There are 797,000 uninsured Children in Florida, the second highest total of any U.S. state. Florida saw a 10.9 percent increase in the number of children without health insurance between the three-year period 2003-2005 and the three-year period 2005-2007. The vast majority of uninsured children in Florida come from families where at least one parent works.
